Celebrating St.Patricks at Thistle & Rose
Although it was just over a week early, Thistle & Rose Lodge No. 6644 was determined not to miss an important celebration this season. On Friday 8 March, Bro Lewis Aitken was Raised to the degree of a Master Mason—an occasion made even more memorable as he will no doubt be a great addition to the lodge.
As this was deemed an emergency meeting, brethren from across Corby came together not only to assist in the ceremony but also to ensure strong support at the Festive Board.
Brotherhood at its Best
A special thanks went to WBro Jack Summerfield for his work in the lodge, an example of brotherhood at its best.
A Festive Board with Irish Flavour
Naturally, the menu had to reflect the occasion. Irish stew and soda bread were served as the main course by the caterers, much to everyone’s delight.
Entertainment followed, with Bro Kevin Mannion playing the banjo, while the Worshipful Master enjoyed his shamrocks. The highlight of the evening came when WBro Jim Spence, clearly favoured by Irish luck, won the raffle once again.
A Great Night of Craic
It was, by all accounts, a fantastic night filled with laughter, music, and fellowship. Thistle & Rose extend their thanks to all the visitors and look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
