Charity Collection for the Corby Foodbank

Once again, the Corby Freemasons have demonstrated their commitment to charity and community spirit by donating an incredible 350 kg (over one third of a tonne) of food and essential hygiene products to the Corby Foodbank, which is run by the Trussell Trust.

The Corby Foodbank continues to be a lifeline for many families and individuals in the local area, especially during the winter months when financial pressures can be particularly difficult. The generosity of the Corbymasons helps to ensure that those struggling have access to the most basic necessities — food on the table and hygiene products that many of us take for granted.

Although Brother Kenny Keys was the driving force behind this year’s collection, his efforts were supported by a strong and enthusiastic team of fellow Lightblues. Together, they coordinated the collection, sorting, and distribution of these much-needed supplies. Their teamwork reflects not only the values of Freemasonry but also the importance of unity and service to the wider community.

This charitable initiative has now become an annual tradition, first launched in 2019. With the exception of the break during the Covid pandemic, the Corby Freemasons have resumed their efforts with renewed energy since returning to the Masonic Complex. What began as a local act of kindness has grown into a regular demonstration of the Lodge’s commitment to supporting those in need.

The continuing success of this event stands as a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose.
