  • Purpose

A chance to live with meaning by supporting others, giving back through charity, and contributing to something bigger than yourself.

  • Growth

Opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership, and learn new skills through speaking, mentoring, and shared experiences with others.

  • Connections

Friendships that extend beyond the Lodge through family events and community life becoming the strongest bonds you can make.

What Freemasonry is and What it is Not

Freemasonry is a brotherhood that encourages men to improve themselves, help others, and build lasting friendships, grounded in a tradition.

What it is

  • A voluntary fraternity that builds character and friendship.

  • Traditions and ceremonies that teach responsibility and integrity.

  • A community to find purpose, give help, and make friends.

  • A place to learn, serve, and grow with others.

What it is Not

  • Not a religion members keep their own faith and private beliefs.

  • Not political, party politics stay outside lodge.

  • Not a secret society our presence and aims are public.

  • Not a business network, friendship and service come first.

Common Questions Straight Answers

From what happens in a meeting to how you join, these are the things people ask most often.

We open with simple formalities, learn through short ceremonies and talks, plan charity, and handle lodge business. We welcome visitors and then share a meal. No religion or politics.
No. You can ask to join. You must be over 18, of good character, and hold a personal belief in a Supreme Being. We will meet you, take references, and explain the steps.
Most lodges meet about once a month, with the odd practice or social night. There is a joining fee and yearly dues. Charity is voluntary.
Yes. While our lodges are for Masons only, the Lady Associate Members (LAMs) group supports women connected to Masonry. LAMs organise social gatherings like coffee mornings, luncheons, and teas; raise funds for both the complex and local charities; and foster fellowship in the Corby Masonic community.
